I WENT THROUGH THE FIRE, BUT I DIDN’T COME OUT SMELLING OF SMOKE.

For the past 10 years, I have walked through some of the most intense fires of my life but I didn’t come out burned.

I experienced mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual fatigue that became incredibly difficult to navigate. From recurring health issues that left me with a drawer full of medications just to make it through each day, to rejection, betrayal, and criticism within various relationships that left me feeling alone and crushed my self esteem.

There were seasons when I wasn’t facing just one battle, but three or four at once and some of those seasons lasted for years. Depression, severe anxiety, and overall exhaustion made everyday life incredibly difficult to navigate. At times, I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water, army crawling my way through my responsibilities just to keep going.

I searched for answers and sought guidance, only to discover that some of the guidance I received caused more harm than healing.

I learned that I had to become an advocate for myself. I began saying “no” more often and making self-care and recovery a priority. There came a point when it felt like it was just me and Jesus and He became my greatest source of guidance.

Through Him, I gained insight and discernment for the situations I was facing. I learned to recognize what I couldn’t see before, establish boundaries, make difficult decisions, protect my peace, rebuild my confidence, and find the pieces of myself I thought I had lost.

The fire that was meant to consume me became the fire that transformed me.

What I walked through gave me wisdom, insight, and practical tools that not only helped me overcome, but also helped my family.

I went through the fire and came out carrying a torch. Now, I want to use that light to help women find their way through their own dark seasons, so they too can come out carrying a torch of their own and one day, pass that light on to someone else.
